These opportunities emphasize opportunities for all, and seek to identify, develop and reward each employee who demonstrates the qualities of initiative, enterprise, hard work and loyalty to their job.
Affirmative Action Gestan Projects commitment to affirmative action is illustrated by its continuous endeavours to engage emerging businesses (both subcontractors & suppliers) and its involvement with previously disadvantaged individuals. Through various innovations, we have found ways of encouraging this development.
Gestan Projects has not only the capacity and ability to deliver on it’s promise to engage PDI’s at a significant level and meet the requirements of the client, but it has a proven record of regularly exceeding these requirements.
Local Involvement In keeping with our experience in community based contracting, local entrepreneurs are employed on a sub-contract basis. The transfer of management, commercial and technical skill develops theses subcontractors potential. It is our intention to effectively retain a significant portion of expenditure within the local communities.
Historically, four major constraints faced small and micro black enterprises. Namely, the lack of access to credit, markets, skills and supportive institutional arrangements. Through our development programs we at Gestan Projects have successfully launched several small contractors.
Through our network of resources we have arranged for these contractors to have their business’s properly registered with the appropriate parastatals to ensure they have conformed and met with all legal requirements. As the need arises, we offer them both financial assistance and guidance. Even to date, we continue offering them assistance. We also vigorously support suppliers who are small emerging businesses and allow them as well, the benefit of our expertise, experience and on-going support.
